It is important that you read through the content found on the ISSS website about the STEM Extension. If you are unsure whether you are eligible for the STEM Extension, or have questions about the application process, you can meet with an ISSS Advisor during walk-in hours.
In order to submit this request, you will need to complete a Form I-983 Training Plan with your employer. It is very important that Form I-983 responses are complete and accurate.
Once ISSS has determined that your Form I-983 is acceptable, your request will be processed within 10 (ten) business days.
An ISSS Advisor will review your STEM Extension Request and issue you a new I-20 document. The I-20 will reflect their recommendation for STEM Extension and list the requested employment information on page 2.
